It is a great choice for making detailed RP models, prototypes, and CAD/CAM models, because it produces strong, tear-resistant silicone that can withstand many uses.

While there is no one right way to make a silicone mold, there are some basic tips that can help you get started. First, you'll need to build a mold housing. Next, lay out your masters and apply mold release to them as well. Once you've done this, tile your masters together with the most detailed side facing up and place them in your mold housing.

This odor can be very unpleasant, so it's best to work outdoors or in a well-ventilated room. Once you've mixed the silicone, knead it by hand until it has a smooth, consistent color. It's important to knead the mixture thoroughly, as failure to do so may cause it to set too quickly or unevenly.

Once you've completed this step, pour your end-use material into the silicone and allow it to cure for several hours before removing the silicone mold from its mold housing. You can repeat this process as needed, making multiple silicone molds from the same masters.

It is a good idea to lightly mist your finished silicone mold with more mold release before using it, as this will help you to remove the finished product without damaging the mold. In addition, you should always use a concrete-casting recipe when making your end-use part, as this will ensure that the finished product is strong and durable. If you're planning to cast waxes into your silicone mold, be sure to select a suitable wax that can withstand the high temperatures involved in this process. Likewise, if you're casting concrete into your silicone mold, be sure to use a non-shrink mix.
